Happy Wednesday loves! So good to be back - and today I have a recipe to share!
Promise I'll bring in the veggies next week ;)
The best thing is that oats are so versatile you can add in and top it with almost anything and it'll turn out great...
Well most of the time.
And this is one of those times.
I'm pretty sure I've had this combination for breakfast for 1 week straight! I am not a big coffee drinker, but chocolate makes everything great: True story.
Mocha Oatmeal
Mocha oats topped with blueberries, peanut butter granola, and chocolate peanut butter
Ingredients (serves 1)
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 3/4 cup milk (I use either full fat, or 2%)
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 1 banana
- 1 heaping tsp instant coffee (I use original Nescafe classic)
- 1 heaping tsp cocoa powder
- ~2 tbsp hot water
- stevia/honey/sugar to taste
Add oats and milk to a pot and keep on medium heat. Stir in chia seeds. Bring to a boil.
In a separate small bowl, add coffee and cocoa powder to hot water and stir to dissolve. Set aside.
Thinly slice half the banana into the pot. Stir oats well.
Once oats are thickened up, stir in coffee/cocoa mixture to pot. Add your choice of sweetener.
Add the rest of the banana - sliced normally - and turn off the stove.
Topped with blueberries, frozen cherries, peanut butter granola, chocolate trail mix, and coconut peanut butter
Enjoy!

I'm not a huge mocha fan, but for everyone who is, this recipe is awesome!
ReplyDeletep.s. LOVE the purple dish.
I love waking up to my morning bowl of overnight oatmeal! As a huge coffee drinker and chocolate lover, I am definitely bookmarking this recipe..thanks for sharing, Shreya!
ReplyDeleteOvernight oats are the best invention ever - so quick and easy! Thanks love, I hope you try it!
DeleteSo happy that you are back. I missed your WIAW's. And the mocha oats look divine.
ReplyDeleteThanks - that means a lot! It's great to be back!
DeleteI love all things mocha!! This sounds delicious!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not even a big oatmeal fan, but yours looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had oatmeal in a long while, but frozen berries are definitely my favorite topping! Frozen raspberries in particular. Oh, and with lots of cocoa powder... Hmm. I can taste it now. Lol.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking recipe! And don't feel too bad about missing veggies this week, I didn't know what the theme was when I did my post last night!
Yum! I love mocha flavored foods but never thought to add it to my oatmeal!
ReplyDeletemocha flavored, so yummy!
ReplyDeleteCan I come over for breakfast? Yes, oatmeal is great and definitely something that helps me get out of bed in the morning, too. Granted, I'm usually an oat bran girl but recently have been having (baked) oatmeal in the morning and oat bran in the evening - it's a fair compromise, right?!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're not too stressed out by classes at the moment!
I'll set you a place on the table ;) I have to try oat bran - There's an unopened packet in my pantry that has been sitting there for months!
DeleteAnd it's just 3 more weeks till I'm done! The load's getting slightly lighter because there's no more filming, so that's a relief!
Those toppings look FABULOUS!
ReplyDeleteYour oats look so good. I eat porridge/oatmeal for breakfast nearly every day. I love them so much. The only reason I ever change it up is because I don't want to bore my blog readers to death! :-)
ReplyDeleteSo the title of your post put a huge smile on my fave Chocolate and coffee - two of my true loves. That being said, can you believe that I've never tried combining the two in oatmeal? That's something that's definitely going to have to change soon!
ReplyDeleteI hope you try it Amanda - I'm sure you'll love it! Trust your fellow pudding/watermelon/ice-cream-in-a-cone-loving addict here ;)
DeleteOh my goshhhhhh that is genius. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMhmm, what a yummy looking bowl of oatmeal!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm all about chocolate oats!
